2026 Boomtown 5K, 10k, Half-Marathon

The BOOMTOWN Road Race is back for 2026!! 5K, 10k, and Half-Marathon on Saturday May 9th!

Plus the new for 2026 “DONUT MILE”! 4 donuts, one mile, and endless fun and laughs.

The 5k, 10, and Half Marathon races will begin at 4th & Elm at 7:30am. Donut mile will begin at 9:30am. Register before the price increase on April 1st to guarantee a t-shirt! A portion of the proceeds from the race go to Celebrate Freedom in Wamego!

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP:
Location: 4^th & Elm Restaurant: 404 Elm Street Wamego, KS
Date: May 9th 6am-7am

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Race Day Parking: Please use downtown and neighborhood street parking.

All races start and finish at 4^th & Elm.

The Half Marathon is a 10k loop done twice (with a small added out and back on the second lap).

All race routes are certified routes.

There will be two water stations on the course (mile 2 and mile 4) plus a water station at the start/finish line.

No dogs are allowed on the course.

All finishers will receive a medal.

We will have a food truck and local coffee shop set up at the finish line for spectators and racers.

The local Wamego Schools are having a contest to see who can get the most participants. If you are affiliated with one of the Wamego Schools, please select the school you’d like to support during registration.

A portion of the race proceeds go to support the Celebrate Freedom in Wamego celebration over the Fourth of July.

This race will be chip-timed by Manhattan Running Company, which will also offer live event announcing at the finish line, results kiosks, and the option to have your results sent to you through social media apps.
